Dress Code

St. Joan of Arc Parish School has adopted a mandatory uniform/dress code to further accomplish our goal of educating the whole person, physically, mentally and spiritually.

General Rules for All Grades
- Uniforms: Must be worn on school days unless announced otherwise.
- Non-Uniform Days: Clothes must be appropriate for learning.
- Clothing Fit: Must be size and age-appropriate.
- Shoes: Must be safe, practical, and have a heel strap.
- No platform shoes, crocs, or open-toe sandals.
- Hats/Scarves: Not permitted indoors; baseball hats allowed outside with teacher approval.
- Make-Up: Not allowed; no dangling earrings.
- Hair: Must be natural color.
- Deodorant: Encouraged for Grades 4 and up.
Reminder: All dress code items should be clean, in good repair, and free of objectionable content.
Junior Kindergarten & Senior Kindergarten
3K / 4K / 5K
Shirts
- Comfortable length; sweaters and vests permitted.
Pants
- Elastic waistband cotton pants; skirts, jumpers, or dresses allowed.
Uniform Option
- Students may wear school uniform if preferred.
Grades 1st - 8th
Dress Code
ALL GENDERS
Shirts
- Style: Polo, turtleneck, or Oxford (with school logo only).
- Colors: White, navy blue, forest green, maize yellow.
- Sleeves: Short or long; no ribbed, ruffled, or contrasting trim.
Pants
- Style: Solid color, tailored uniform style (navy blue, tan/khaki).
- Material: Cotton twill or poly blend; no cargo or jeans.
- Length: Full-length pants; no extra zippers or pockets.
Sweater/Vests
- Colors: White, navy blue, forest green.
- Style: Cardigans, pullovers, crew neck, or V-neck.
Shorts
- Colors: Navy blue or tan/khaki.
- Style: Tailored, no extra pockets or zippers.
- Length: Must come to the knee; May be worn in warmer months.
Belts (Optional)
- Colors: Solid black, brown, or navy blue.
- Style: Must have belt loops (no studs/decorations)

ADDITIONAL GIRLS OPTIONS
Jumpers/Skirts
- Colors: Solid navy or khaki, plain, tailored style.
- Plaid: White Plaid (Land’s End); must meet length requirement (2” above the knee).
Socks/Tights
- Colors: White or navy blue; anklets, knee socks, or tights.
- Leggings: Navy or white, full-length, no lace or decorations.
Physical Education Dress Code
All Grades:
- Shoes: Non-marking, activity-appropriate shoes (e.g., tennis, cross-trainers).
- Socks: Required for safety and comfort.
Grades 5-8:
- Clothing: Loose-fitting shorts (no shorter than mid-thigh); plain t-shirts or SJOA logo shirts; no denim or cut-offs.
- PE Bag: Store PE clothes separately.
